Public Health Programming

Whether devising obesity prevention programming for an entire city in the Mississippi Delta; implementing HIV/AIDS prevention programming among the nation’s leading historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs); or engaging adolescents in Orange County, Florida in an innovative health and wellness intervention to reduce HIV/AIDS risks, ISL programming is holistic, theory based and purposed toward improving comprehensive wellness—not merely the absence of disease.

Tremene Triplett, ISL Director of Communication, combines health and communication to deliver keynote presentations and seminars on the role of media in public health.  Tremene demystifies how media works and how it can be utilized to the advantage of various public, private and health organizations.  Public health providers build awareness of social media and its virtues and vices by way of Tremene’s presentations.  Media needs people of color to truly tell the stories of people of color.  Tremene Triplett vividly explains this fact in an educational and timely fashion to potential students to the field.
